Two sources that disagree aren't a problem to average out — they're a signal that the real answer is more specific than either source alone. The operator move is simulating a conversation between the disagreeing viewpoints until you can state exactly where and why they diverge.
That's more useful than picking a winner. "Source A is right for teams under 10, Source B is right past that" is a synthesis. "Source A says X, Source B says Y, hard to say" is just a summary of the disagreement, not a resolution of it.
The seed gives you two conflicting claims. Run a synthesis pass: state the specific condition under which each one is true.
